Kitchen project
A classic kitchen with a dark island
Pale shaker, a range cooker and polished concrete.
A light, traditional kitchen with one strong piece in the middle. The perimeter runs are a pale shaker with cup handles, with a white metro tile splashback around the range cooker. The island is painted almost black and topped with polished concrete, which gives the room its weight and a big surface to work on.

Traditional cabinetry, strong contrast.
Polished concrete is a lovely surface and it isn’t fussy, but it does mark and it patinates with use. We talk that through before anyone chooses it, including how it’s sealed and looked after.
Storage that’s easy to read
Panelled larder units stand at the far end with a wine rack on the end wall and black framed doors out to the garden. Everything you reach for every day is a step from the island, and the range has a full run of drawers either side.
